The Youth division of the Healthy Marriage Initiative will implement an afterschool program to engage youth in activities that will strengthen their relationships by providing family living classes, promote abstinence education until marriage, and leadership training.

CSI (Communicating Students’ Ideas)
Teen leaders develop, create, and communicate a series of messages, through various forms of visual and audio communications, to express their own thoughts and views on parenting, communication, and other issues that concern their generation.

Youth Leadership Training will encourage teens to:

C
ontribute to and become involved with promoting the well-being of the community

Effectively communicate, interact, and collaborate with peers and adults to build strong, healthy relationships

Become accountable and responsible individuals at home, school, and in the community

Maintain and demonstrate a healthy lifestyle

Practice collective leadership, teamwork, problem-solving and conflict resolution

Abstinence Education will...

Teach the importance of building satisfying and mature love relationships.

Teach the skills and strategies to help teens postpone early sexual involvement.

Train a community in abstinence, marriage and relationship education so teens have a clear and consistent message from those they come in contact with.

Teach teens to value abstinence, marriage, and safe and stable family formation.

Reduce adolescent sexual activity and the subsequent consequences of adolescent pregnancy, out of wedlock births and sexually transmitted diseases.
