
The Outreach and Support Component is designed to recruit participants, and provide participant support that will keep participants in the L.I.F.E Matters program and directly addressing and changing the feelings of powerlessness and hopelessness that they often have.
Through billboards, posters, brochures and public service announcements (PSA’s), the Media Component is designed to implement youth and community activities related to increasing public awareness, media campaigns, and positive messages that promote the value of marriage.
The Education and Training component is designed to provide pre-marital education and marriage skills training for singles, engaged couples and for couples or persons interested in marriage.
The Youth Development component is designed to assist students and schools within the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) by offering a series of “abstinence education until marriage” classes as part of the school’s “family-living” or health science lesson plan activities. The core curriculum, WAIT Training, emphasizes the value of healthy marriages, relationship skills, and abstinence education until marriage. The Youth Development component also includes afterschool leadership whereby participating students are given the opportunity to have a “voice” in their school and community and create their own messages that promote the value of healthy relationships with families, parents and friends.
The Marriage Enrichment and Preservation component is designed to equip pre-marital and married couples with marriage education, marriage skills, and relationship skills development.
